The tropical Costa Rican Fair Trade Organic Coffee is an Arabica coffee that is grown in high altitudes (1400-1600 meters) and has a lively and elegant taste, with high acidity. Very much like the Costa Rican Rainforest Alliance, but Fair Trade certified and Organic certified.
This Organic coffee has a sweet, complex aroma with a full body and lively acidity. We recommend a medium roast to maintain all the nutty, slightly fruity and chocolatey nuances of this coffee. The flavors are a result of the high altitude combined with rich volcanic soil. In a dark roast, this will start to develop more bittersweet chocolate flavors and have a more winey finish. Due to being grown in a dense arrangement and on the side of the mountains, the bean grows slowly and is given ample time developing some of the most unique flavors.
