The tropical Costa Rican Tarrazu Rainforest Alliance Coffee is an Arabica coffee that is grown in high altitudes (1400-1600 meters) and has a lively and elegant taste, with high acidity. Costa Rica's Tarrazu region contains extremely rich volcanic soil that provides ample nutrients for coffee trees to grow. The result is a coffee cherry and subsequent bean that has had all the nourishment it needs to develop it's flavors.

The program is designed to help farmers and communities develop sustainable business and farming practices that avoid environmentally damaging actions. These practices help to maintain biodiversity and prevent deforestation - helping to keep green house gases in check in some of the most important areas on the planet.
Price is for 1 lb (16 oz/454 grams) of whole bean coffee. Ground coffee goes stale quickly so we don’t bother offering it. Our coffee is carefully roasted and bagged to order. Please allow time for custom roasting.
